D-Day Normandy Tour

Normandy is vast, breathtakingly beautiful, and incredibly diverse—a region where history, landscape, and human stories come together in a powerful way. This immersive tour takes you to the most significant American and Allied sites of World War II. We begin at Omaha Beach, the most well-known and hard-fought landing site of D-Day.

What seemed like an impossible mission was achieved by the U.S. Rangers—true to their motto “Lead the Way”—along with the 29th Infantry Division and the legendary Big Red One, the 1st Infantry Division. At Utah Beach, you’ll learn how Theodore Roosevelt Jr. famously declared, “We’ll start the war from right here,” as the 4th Infantry Division came ashore. Nearby, at Pointe du Hoc, you’ll stand atop the dramatic 90-foot cliffs scaled by Colonel James Rudder and the 2nd Rangers in one of the most daring assaults of the war.

Overlooking Omaha Beach, the American Cemetery at Colleville-sur-Mer lies in solemn beauty—a peaceful and poignant reminder of the enormous sacrifice made by thousands of young men so that future generations could live in freedom. We continue to Sainte-Mère-Église, a key town on the Caen–Cherbourg road.

Captured by General Matthew Ridgway and the 82nd Airborne Division, it became famous through the story of paratrooper John Steele, whose parachute caught on the church steeple during the night drop. Nearby, the La Fière Bridge, one of the bloodiest engagements of the Normandy campaign, tells the story of a decisive and hard-won victory. The tour also includes lesser-known German strongpoints, where you can enter original bunkers and gain a real sense of what soldiers experienced on June 6, 1944.

You’ll visit the remarkably preserved Longues-sur-Mer battery, where original World War II guns still stand, and Arromanches-les-Bains, home of Mulberry B, the incredible artificial harbor that made the invasion possible.

A Journey Through Normandy’s Deep History

Are you a history enthusiast? Do you enjoy discovering architecture and understanding why famous landmarks were created? Then this tour is for you. This exceptional experience brings together the most remarkable chapters of Normandy’s past—from D-Day, the greatest naval military operation of the 20th century, to the medieval legacy of William the Conqueror, and the construction of the fairytale Mont-Saint-Michel, often called the “Marvel of the Western World.”

To truly appreciate Normandy’s charm and depth, time is essential. To understand the humbling story of the D-Day invasion, to drive through authentic Norman villages, and to visit the jewel of France—Mont-Saint-Michel—I highly recommend this three-day tour.

Highlights May Include
–  Utah Beach, Pointe du Hoc, Omaha Beach, and the American Cemetery or the British sector: Arromanches and Mulberry B

– Longues-sur-Mer, the German coastal battery with original WWII guns

– Sword Beach and Pegasus Bridge, where British airborne troops secured the eastern
flank or the Canadian sector: Juno Beach, Bernières-sur Mer, and Ardenne

– Bayeux, with its medieval streets, cathedral, and the Bayeux Tapestry Museum
or Honfleur, exploring Sainte-Catherine Church and the 14th-century Church of
Saint-Étienne

–  Mont-Saint-Michel, rising majestically off Normandy’s western coast

A Sample Three-Day Experience

We begin at the German cemetery of La Cambe, offering a different perspective on the war. Next, we visit Angoville-au-Plain, where a deeply human story unfolds amid the chaos of battle. From there, we explore Utah Beach, follow the 101st Airborne drop zones, and continue to Sainte-Mère-Église, with time to visit the Airborne Museum and the La Fière Bridge.

We then head to Pointe du Hoc, before ending the day at Omaha Beach, the site of D-Day’s bloodiest fighting.

Another day includes the U.S. Cemetery at Colleville-sur-Mer, Longues-sur-Mer, and
Arromanches, followed by a walking tour of Bayeux, its cathedral, and the remarkable 70- meter Bayeux Tapestry, telling the epic story of William the Conqueror.
