Saint-Éloi Catholic Church in Dunkirk is a Gothic architectural gem known for its history and wartime scars. The church, dating back to the 16th century, bears bullet holes from World War II on its facade. Inside, visitors can admire the rose window and the tomb of Jean Bart.

Fort des Dunes, East of Dunkirk in Leffrinckoucke, is a historical site located away from the harbor, nestled in the sand dunes. It features former French barracks dating back to the late nineteenth century.
The Vancauwenberghe sanatorium is located near the sea in Zuydcoote. During the First World War, it served as a military hospital and more than 100.000 wounded soldiers were received and cared for. In the early days of the Second World War it was used again as a military hospital. During Operation Dynamo, hundreds of wounded were brought in, while under constant threat of German artillery. After the Liberation, it was largely destroyed. It was rebuilt in the years after the war and today it serves as a maritime hospital.
Ostend (Belgium!), Atlantikwall Raversyde: The over 60 bunkers, observation posts and artillery positions and the open or subterranean corridors constitute one of the best preserved parts of the infamous German Atlantikwall. This defence line was built during the Second World War (Battery Saltzwedel-neu).
