A slow privat walkingtour in the medieval magnificent Bruges is like being in a fairytale. Due to the narrow streets and many bridges, this city is also called the Venice of the North. Bruges is a place that lives and breathes history. This is evidenced by its historic city centre, the entirety of which has been designated a UNESCO world heritage site. The iconic spires of its cathedral and bell tower, its cobbled streets, winding canals and whitewashed façades are almost painfully picturesque. Then there’s the famous lace, renowned chocolates and culinary culture, annual Procession of the Holy Blood and the Flemish Primitives, whose masterpieces at the Groeningemuseum still retain their power. . . This is Bruges, a picture-perfect destination that has endured for hundreds of years.
