A Day Trip From Brussels to Ghent, we will meet at your hotel in Brussels at 09AM +1h. drive (Taxi-car/bus) to Ghent, arriving at 10AM North of Ghent, then take the shuttlebus for 20 min. to the center of Ghent and start at the Ghent City Hall and the flamboyant Brabant Gothic style of the Cloth Hall, an ode to the industry to which Ghent owes so much. We will see the Saint-Michael’s bridge with the famous three towers, called ‘the medieval Manhattan’.
We face the most beautiful street of Belgium ‘Graslei’ full of old guildhouses. We walk through the Great Butchers’ Hall (closed on Mondays) and stand face to face with an impressive medieval fortress: the castle of the counts. . . . . . Your Ghent tour itinerary
After our privat Taxi drive (car/bus) from your Brussels hotel(09AM) to the city of Ghent(arriving at 10AM), we will take the shuttlebus to the center of the medieval town Ghent and start our walking tour at the Saint-Jacobs Church direction Ghent City Hall near the Emile Braunsquare. We will visit the Belfry tower, this is the middle tower in the famous row of three, between St Bavo’s Cathedral and St Nicholas’ Church.
A fiery dragon, the proud symbol and mascot of Ghent, guards the historic heart of the city. The Belfry tower is an absolute must-see! Climb the stairs, listen to the chiming sound of the carillon and enjoy the view of the vibrant city of Ghent. after this impressive visit we will have our lunch near the Saint Baafs Cathedral. After lunch we will visit/admire (1h)(special reservations!) the restored panels of the Ghent Altarpiece and other authentic art treasures in Saint-Bavo’s Cathedral in Ghent. Then we walk through historic Ghent, we go through: Devils Castle, Justice Palace. . .
